Higashimura's father is Japan's leading broccoli breeder.
I grew up watching the company being founded as a seed company.
While his father was researching broccoli, Mr. Higashimura was involved in sales and SCM (supply chain management) at an agrochemical manufacturer, gaining experience looking at agriculture from many different angles.
Even back then, the ``seeds and seedlings that valued flavor'' that my father had produced could not compete with large companies in terms of sales volume.
This is because the best-selling varieties were not based on their taste, but because they were resistant to diseases and easy to grow.
Mr. Higashimura inherited his father's seed business.
“We want to make delicious broccoli, which is our specialty, and have as many people as possible eat it.”
It was with this passion that I started my journey to becoming a farmer.
Growing vegetables starts with creating rich and balanced soil.
What is important in soil preparation is how to use fertilizers and pesticides .
We choose organic fertilizers that feed the microorganisms that live in the soil, and pesticides that utilize the power of microorganisms to protect vegetables from diseases, and use the minimum amount necessary.
The optimal soil conditions differ depending on the vegetables being grown. For this reason, I spend every day looking at the fields and vegetables, conducting research on soil preparation in collaboration with universities, and devoting myself to soil preparation.
It takes time to find the optimal soil conditions, but we will continue to focus on delivering delicious vegetables.
The vegetables that are the raw materials for saesa are grown with love and in a natural environment by our partner farmers.
By growing vegetables in rich and well-balanced soil, we bring out the maximum flavor and nutrition of the vegetables.
We interview farmers about how their vegetables are growing and check their quality together.
Each freshly harvested vegetable and fruit is carefully sorted by hand. After that, it is transported to saesa's processing factory.
By purchasing vegetables and fruits directly from farmers, you can shorten distribution time.
This is the most important process that preserves the nutrition, flavor, and color of vegetables and allows them to be stored for long periods without additives.
Before drying, wash the vegetables thoroughly under running water several times. Under strict temperature control, the drying process begins quickly.
The equipment and process used for drying vegetables and fruits, as well as the bacteria testing methods, are the same as for the foods we eat.
After drying, we perform another quality inspection. Then fill it into a stick packaging bag. A final quality inspection is performed on the product after filling.
We do not use additives such as preservatives in our products. Therefore, we choose aluminum as the material for stick packaging bags because it maintains the quality of vegetables and fruits.
